Cocoon verbeeldt het kwetsbare, maar veerkrachtige zeeleven. De combinatie van verlichting en het lichtdoorlatend polyester zorgt voor een diffuus licht wat een dromerige atmosfeer creëert, vergelijkbaar met mijn ervaringen bij het duiken in de Golf van Thailand. De vorm van de polyester kap is intuïtief ontstaan en is geïnspireerd op de steenkoralen die ik tijdens deze duiken gezien heb. De mal wordt handgevormd waardoor een organische vorm ontstaat.

Tip Doordat er een ophangsysteem in de achterkant is bevestigd, kan dit object zowel worden neergezet als worden opgehangen.

Cocoon depicts the vulnerable, yet resilient marine life. The combination of lighting and translucent polyester creates a diffused light which can develop a dreamy atmosphere, similar to my experiences while diving in the Gulf of Thailand. The shape of the polyester shade is created intuitively and is inspired by the stony corals I came across during these dives. The mold is hand formed, creating an organic shape.

Tip Due to the flat hanging attachment on the back, the object can be placed on the wall as well as on a cabinet or table.
